The Commissioners of the Lindenhurst Lakes Committee are volunteers
serving in an advisory capacity to the Village. A
commissioner is appointed to represent each of the four Village
lakes. Additional commissioners represent the Village at
Large. The Committee meets bimonthly or as needed to conduct
an open forum for discussion of Lakes Management issues.
It works with the Village Administrator and appointed Trustee to
recommend Good Lakes Management Practices. Activities include
oversight of recreational use of our lakes, fish stocking,
macrophyte control, shoreline stabilization, interaction with state
and local biologists and organizations, e.g. Illinois Departments of Public Health and Natural Resources,. public
education including Earth Day and Lindenfest, and ordinance review
and recommendation. The annual budget is funded by the Village
and the average range is $38,000 - $42,000, the vast majority of
which goes for the annual contract for lakes management and aquatic
weed control.

I am
recently retired from the College of Lake County as
director of human resources, and I’m currently employed
as an adjunct college instructor there. I live on
Springledge Lake with my wife, Judy, and son, Mike.
The
wonderful lakes of our village enticed me to buy my
first home in Lindenhurst approximately 11 years ago.
After having had the opportunity to experience the
aesthetic and recreational advantages of the lakes, I
decided to purchase a home on Springledge Lake in the
autumn of 2007. I have a deep interest in the ecology
and protection of our lakes, and I want to do my part to
ensure that they remain healthy, viable and attractive. |

Sue, Ryan and I moved to Lindenhurst in 2015. We
have enjoyed all the benefits of Lake Linden -
winter and summer - and I feel everyone should try
to make it better.
I was in the Air Force for 13 years, and then a
newspaper editor in Washington for 17 years. I hope
to use that background to help with communications
between the village and residents. Lindenhurst has a
lot to offer, and so do its residents. We can make a
great community with a lifetime of memories for our
kids.

My wife Caly and I moved to Lindenhurst in 2015.
Living on Lake Potomac with our two children we have
all come to enjoy the beauty and nature a lakefront
can provide.
The health and longevity of our lakes is important
to me and as a LLC volunteer I hope to give back and
do my part to ensure our lakes remain active,
pleasant and engaging for generations to come. |

I
have lived in Lindenhurst, on Lake Waterford, since
2012. I grew up in Lindenhurst, and have a deep
passion for the lakes of Lindenhurst. I graduated
from Lawrence University with a B.A. in Biology in 2006.
Currently, I am employed as a fisheries scientist for a
environmental consulting company. When I'm not
working I can be found fishing one of the many lakes of
Lake County.
I
look forward to contributing to the LLC to help
maintain, and protect the lakes of Lindenhurst. It is
my hope that my contributions will help to ensure the
lakes of Lindenhurst will be as good, if not better for
future generations to enjoy. |
